The student council members at Ruston High School and Choudrant High School wrote scripts and acted in Lincoln Parish's first mock DUI crash programs last school year! These high school students wrote scripts for scenerios that were unique to their own high school's culture and behavior regarding alcohol. Ruston High did theirs just before Homecoming and Choudrant did theirs just before prom. The students met with law enforcement, rescue teams, fire departments, and other businesses and agencies that helped to coordinate a realistic DUI crash scene.
Some students watching these mock crashes have been brought to tears and surveying has indicated that these events do help to educate and change attitudes towards alcohol use and driving under the influence in the short term. Further evaluations are needed to determine whether these programs will affect student's behavior in the long term.

Rescue workers pull a mock victim from one of the crashed cars.
These programs could not go on without the participation and hard work of the
following people and agencies!
